VAJRA

Collaborative Combat Aerial Vehicle

VISION

Indigenous Innovation for Next-Gen Air Superiority

The AvionX Vajra is a next-generation Naval Collaborative Combat Air Vehicle (N-CCAV) designed to enhance the Indian Navy’s operational reach, combat mass, and survivability in high-threat maritime environments. It represents a breakthrough in autonomous warfare, electronic warfare, and manned-unmanned teaming (MUM-T) by integrating cutting-edge AI-driven decision-making with stealth, high-speed maneuverability, and precision strike capabilities.

The VAJRA aims to act as a force multiplier, allowing manned fighter aircraft to extend their operational effectiveness while reducing human risk. Built for multi-mission flexibility, the VAJRA can perform air-to-air, air-to-ground, and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) operations with seamless integration into existing naval and aerial combat frameworks.

With a focus on indigenous manufacturing, the AvionX Vajra aligns with India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat vision, incorporating domestically developed engines, avionics, and sensor suites to reduce reliance on foreign suppliers. It is designed to dominate contested airspaces, leveraging electronic warfare, stealth technologies, and AI-driven autonomous operations to secure India’s maritime defense objectives.

AI Pilot Decision Latency

The VAJRA features an AI-driven autonomous system capable of executing complex mission objectives with minimal human intervention. It integrates real-time sensor fusion from AESA radar, EO/IR pod, and electronic warfare systems, allowing it to navigate, detect, and engage targets independently. Through Manned-Unmanned Teaming (MUM-T), it operates alongside fighter jets, providing ISR, electronic warfare support, and precision strikes, thus reducing pilot workload while enhancing combat efficiency.

Counter EW Effectiveness in A2/AD environments

Built with low observable (LO) radar-absorbing materials and an optimized stealth airframe, the Vajra is designed to evade detection and penetrate contested A2/AD environments. Its Electronic Warfare (EW) suite includes active jamming, chaff and flare dispensers, and an ELINT system to disrupt enemy radar and missile guidance. By reducing its Radar Cross-Section (RCS) and managing its electronic signature, it ensures higher survivability in hostile environments while maintaining effective battlefield situational awareness.

Combat Radius

Vajra is equipped with a versatile weapons suite, including air-to-air missiles (AAM), air-to-surface missiles (ASM), and laser-guided bombs (LGB), enabling it to execute precision strikes and defensive operations. Powered by a 25 kN turbofan engine, it achieves high-speed maneuverability with an operational range of 3700 km, making it ideal for long-endurance maritime and aerial missions. Designed for carrier-based operations, it can be launched from both aircraft carriers and smaller naval vessels, providing unmatched mission flexibility for the Indian Navy.
